McColl Center for Visual Art

Tryon Center for Visual Art is a progressive organization committed to enhancing and promoting the visual arts in Mecklenburg County and has built the Charlotte region into a recognized visual arts center offering exhibitions, artists' services, artist-in-residencies, workshops and classes held at Spirt Square in drawing, ceramics, decorative arts, fibers and more.

Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra
The Philharmonic Orchestra is a 75 piece, Boston Pops style, orchestra that performs both the Classics and Broadway Tunes. They present 10 to 12 concerts a year with dancers, instrumentalists, singers, and a 200 voice choir at Christmas.

Charlotte Museum of History
The Charlotte Museum of History offers audience-focused programs and exhibits, based on the people, buildings, stories and objects spanning the region's history, while providing an historic context for understanding how conditions and decisions of the past impact the region today and shape its future.


Theatre Charlotte
Theatre Charlotte is North Carolina's oldest continually producing Community Theatre, with a production history dating from 1927. As a non-professional venue, this theatre is heavily dependent upon community support from the Metrolina area and the talents of our volunteer force. During the past 75 years these factors have combined to create a reputation for excellence unrivalled in the Southeast. James K. Polk Memorial State Historical Site
Visitor center with exhibits/displays and audio visual program on life and times of James K. Polk, the 11th U.S. President born.

Afro-American Cultural Center
A multi-cultural arts organization to preserve, present and promote African-American art, history and culture.

Historic Latta Place
Circa 1800 restored and furnished plantation home of James Latta, a merchant/planter; includes various outbuildings, replica log house, garden and barnyard animals.


Reed Gold Mine State Historic Site
Site of the 1st documented discovery of gold. Tours, museums, and panning operation.


North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center A comprehensive regional arts and entertainment complex. The five level 177,000 sq. ft. center features the 2,100 seat Belk Theater and the smaller Booth Playhouse. Home of Opera Carolina, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, NC Dance Theater, Charlotte Repertory Theater, Choral Society and community concerts, the center also presents Broadway musicals and performing artists.


Charlotte Coliseum Home of the Charlotte Hornets NBA basketball team, this 24,000 seat coliseum also hosts concerts, ice capades, horse shows and the circus.

Levine Museum of the New South
The Levine Museum of the New South houses the nation's most comprehensive interpretation of post-Civil War Southern history. The Museum features interactive, multi-sensory exhibits which engage visitors of all ages. With vibrant, inviting spaces, the museum presents history that inspires and challenges, educates and delights. The core exhibit traces the growth of Charlotte and the Carolina Piedmont from 1865 to the present. The exhibit will offer visitors a comprehensive look at the region's post-Civil War history through a myriad of voices and views
